On the surface Danny Lee Sharkey is your average 22 year old bloke.  He loves fast cars, pretty girls and hard partying.  But underneath his clothes Danny hides a secret that he’s desperate to get rid of.  Danny has a female body, making him a female to male transsexual.  Just 1 in 4 transexuals who complete gender reassignment surgery are female to male.  This is the remarkable story of how Katie becomes Danny.

Mentally, Danny has always been male but physically he’s been trapped in the wrong body since the day he was born as Katie.  He’s been living as a man for 4 years but now, at 22, the time has come for him to go through a rare transformation that will physically change his body from female to male.

A year of male hormone injections has given him facial hair, an Adam’s apple, muscles and a deep voice but that’s just the beginning.  His ultimate goal is to undergo dramatic surgery to remove his female breasts and eventually have a penis made.

Danny:Escaping My Female Body follows Danny as he embarks on the first stage of this rare and irreversible transformation with a double mastectomy to give him the male chest he’s been dreaming of.  We’ll see him get one step closer to being the man he’s meant to be and look forward to the next dramatic stage where he’ll endure six operations to have a penis made. We’ll follow Danny as he witnesses the operation to create male genitalia that he will have to endure to complete his gender transformation.
This is an extraordinary physical and emotional journey of one bloke who just wants to be one of the lads.
